Healthcare Scholarship: National Association of Puerto Rican Hispanic Social Workers

Puerto Rican social work students needing scholarship funds have one more option from which to choose. The National Association of Puerto Rican Hispanic social workers (NAPRHSW) awards scholarships based on academic achievements and financial need. If you believe you meet the requirements of this scholarship, discuss your needs with your social work adviser.

Scholarship Overview

Students vying for the NAPRHSW scholarship must write and submit an application that demonstrates their commitment to issues based by Puerto Ricans and the Latino community. Their applications should also include additional information that covers their achievements, background and career goals. This scholarship is limited to first- and second-year graduate students who are of Hispanic descent currently enrolled any social work program.

The National Association of Puerto Rican Hispanic social workers fund this scholarship. The association’s intent in funding the scholarship is to advocate for the needs and interests of the Hispanic and Puerto Rican communities. In addition, the association works to promote professional growth in social workers and in social work students. If you are interested in being considered for this opportunity, you need to start gathering information about your academic achievements, your personal and professional background, and your financial need.

Scholarship Requirements

Interested students must be attending graduate school and enrolled in a school of social policy and practice program. You must also be able to demonstrate a strong interest in community organization and advocacy that would positively impact both the Latino and Puerto Rican communities. You must also be able to prove proficient academic performance in past semesters at your school. Your application should be addressed to the attention of the acting president at the National Association of Puerto Rican Hispanic social workers.
