Overview of the American Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education (AFPE) Scholarships
Over the last 70 years, the American Foundation of Pharmaceutical Education has been committed to advancing pharmaceutical education on higher education campuses across the US, through a variety of scholarships and grants including:
Pre-Doctoral Fellowship in Pharmaceutical Sciences or Pre-Doctoral Fellowship in Clinical Pharmaceutical Sciences
•Purpose: To identify and support potential leaders in pharmaceutical professions
•Requirements: must be a full-time student in a PhD program in pharmaceutical science affiliated with an ACPE accredited college of pharmacy in a US school, US citizen or a permanent resident, complete at least three semesters in an approved PhD program, and be within 3 1/2 years of completing a PhD degree.
•Deadlines: Part 1 Application: 12/3/2014; Part 2 Application: 1/7/2015
•Award Amount: $10,000 stipend
Pre-Doctoral Fellowship in Pharmaceutical Sciences for Underrepresented Minorities
•Purpose: To identify and support potential leaders in pharmaceutical professions
•Requirements: Students must be a full-time student in a PhD program in pharmaceutical science affiliated with an ACPE accredited college of pharmacy in a US school, US citizen or a permanent resident, complete at least three semesters in an approved PhD program, and be within 3 1/2 years of completing a PhD degree. This scholarship is specifically for students who consider themselves Hispanic/Latino, African American/Black, and/or Native American
•Deadlines: Part 1 Application: 12/3/2014; Part 2 Application: 1/7/2015
•Award Amount: $10,000 stipend
LVC LLC Pre-Doctoral Fellowship in Physical Pharmacy and Biopharmaceutics/LVC LLC Pre-Doctoral Fellowship in Formulation Design/LVC LLC Pre-Doctoral Fellowship in Manufacturing Science and Engineering
•Purpose: To identify and support potential leaders in pharmaceutical professions
•Requirements: Students must be a full-time student in a PhD program in pharmaceutical science affiliated with an ACPE accredited college of pharmacy in a US school, US citizen or a permanent resident, complete at least three semesters in an approved PhD program, and be within 3 1/2 years of completing a PhD degree. Each recipient must propose a research project based on specific areas of pharmaceutical research and function.
•Deadlines: Part 1 Application: December 3, 2014; Part 2 Application: January 7, 2015
•Award Amount: $10,000 stipend
First Year Graduate School Fellowships (Phi Lambda Sigma, Kappa Epsilon, Rho Chi)
•Purpose: To identify and support potential leaders in pharmaceutical professions
•Requirements: Must be a US citizen or permanent resident, a member in good standing in fraternity or honor society supporting the fellowship, and entering a post graduate (Masters or PhD) program in pharmaceutical sciences.
•Deadlines: February 1, 2015
•Award Amount: $7,500
