Healthcare Scholarship: Hispanic Dental Association

The Hispanic Dental Association Foundation was created in 1990, as a 501(3)3 to provide grants and scholarships to individual students enrolled in dental school programs. Within a time span of four years, the HDAF provided over $100,000 in scholarships to dental students. Narrowing this time period down more, HDAF granted over $37,000 in scholarship funds to dental students.

Scholarship Overview

The HDAF provides scholarships to third- and fourth-year dental school students. This scholarship is intended to provide Hispanic scholarship students with funding needed to pay for their dental school classes. If you qualify, the HDAF invites you to become a student member of HDAF, so you will receive notice when the call for scholarships for the 2015-2016 academic year opens up. If you are chosen to receive a scholarship, HDAF will reimburse you for your travel to the annual meeting as well as your complementary registration for the annual meeting.

All HDAF recipients are required to write an essay that will be printed in the HDA newsletter. This essay should detail your plans to continue your relationship with HDAF, as well as your plans to spread HDA’s vision to increase the awareness of the Hispanic community’s awareness of strong dental health.

Scholarship Deadline

The 2015-2016 call for applications has not yet begun. To receive notice when the call has been opened up, you should become a student member of HDA. Once you have received this notification, prepare your application and submit it before the posted deadline date. Complete the top portion of the Verification form and have your school submit it to the HDAF by the deadline.
