Healthcare Scholarship: National Association of Puerto Rican Hispanic Social Workers

Puerto Rican social work students needing scholarship funds have one more option from which to choose. The National Association of Puerto Rican Hispanic social workers (NAPRHSW) awards scholarships based on academic achievements and financial need. Scholarship Overview

Students vying for the NAPRHSW scholarship must write and submit an application that demonstrates their commitment to issues based by Puerto Ricans and the Latino community. Their applications should also include additional information that covers their achievements, background and career goals. This scholarship is limited to first- and second-year graduate students who are of Hispanic descent currently enrolled any social work program.

The National Association of Puerto Rican Hispanic social workers fund this scholarship. The association’s intent in funding the scholarship is to advocate for the needs and interests of the Hispanic and Puerto Rican communities. In addition, the association works to promote professional growth in social workers and in social work students. Scholarship Requirements

Interested students must be attending graduate school and enrolled in a school of social policy and practice program. You must also be able to demonstrate a strong interest in community organization and advocacy that would positively impact both the Latino and Puerto Rican communities. You must also be able to prove proficient academic performance in past semesters at your school. Your application should be addressed to the attention of the acting president at the National Association of Puerto Rican Hispanic social workers.

No application deadline is shown for the scholarship. At the time that you submit your FAFSA application for the coming year, have your application for the National Association of Puerto Rican Hispanic social workers ready to submit by March 1st of the current academic year.

This scholarship is intended for graduate students with Puerto Rican and Hispanic descent. The financial awards vary in size. Plan to combine this award, if you win it, with any other scholarships.
